FTC Complaints
Do you receive unwanted calls from telemarketers, scammers, or robocallers? Do you want to know if the numbers that call you have been reported to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for violating the Do Not Call Registry or other consumer protection laws?
If so, you can use our FTC Complaints service to check your caller IDs and see if any of them have had any formal FTC complaints. We update these on a daily basis, so you can find out immediately if a number received a complaint.
The FTC is the nation’s consumer protection agency, and it collects complaints from consumers about fraud, scams, and bad business practices. The FTC uses these complaints to investigate, sue, and shut down companies that break the law1.
By using our FTC Complaints service, you can:
- Identify and block unwanted callers
- Report suspicious numbers to the FTC
- Protect yourself from fraud and identity theft
- Support the FTC’s efforts to stop illegal telemarketing and robocalling
To use our FTC Complaints service, simply enter the phone number you want to check in the search box below. You will see the number of complaints filed against that number, the date of the last complaint, and the type of complaint (such as Do Not Call violation, debt collection, impostor scam, etc.). You can also click on the number to see more details about the complaints, such as the name of the company, the state where the call originated, and the description of the issue.
If you want to report a number to the FTC, you can do so by clicking on the “Report to FTC” button. You will be redirected to the FTC’s online complaint form, where you can provide more information about the call and the caller. The FTC will use your complaint to help stop illegal telemarketing and robocalling.
Our FTC Complaints service is free and easy to use. You can check as many numbers as you want, and you can also sign up for our newsletter to receive updates on the latest FTC actions and tips on how to avoid scams.
